In the second week of the fishing season 2023, we met Andrei and Nikolai. Both fishermen have come to the camp not for the first time. For Andrei, this is the fifth trip to the Belousiha and Voronya rivers, Nikolai for the second year in a row.
After several hot days of last week, the weather stabilized, became more suitable for fishing, the sun hid behind the clouds. The winds continued to blow from the north, the air temperature was 12-15 degrees on average. The water level in the rivers is slightly lower than the average, the water temperature in the Belousiha is 14-16, the Voronya 7-8.
On the Belousiha, the fish continues to actively come from the sea and spread through the pools. There are bunch of salmon on each of them. Most are in areas with a quick and strong flow. Most of the salmon was caught on Three steps, the Canyon and the Swedish Table. Many flies worked - the fish was not particularly capricious. Hitches and bombers, as always annoyed the salmon and forced to make frantic attacks - fishing fascinates on a surface flies. Black Frances and Green Highlander brought most of the trophies on Belousiha.
They spent a couple of days on the Voronya, at the beginning of the week the fish did not show much activity, they caught several sea trout, lost and landed one Atlantic salmon. At the end of the week, the situation is already funny, the fish is often shown over the surface of the water and shows interest in our flies - 4 fish were landed, one of which 102 cm, 3 good tails were also not delivered to the landing net. All fish are caught on the ATR pool and the Beach.
For two fishermen, the results are excellent, caught daily! During the week there were annoying losts, broken fishing rods, kilometers of exhausted paths, but the most important thing is a bunch of positive emotions! Fishing was a success!
